Fall is the best time to ride the dirt in Truckee/Tahoe. Spring = still skiing, snow covered stuff at altitude. Summer = blown out moon dust, heat and crowds. Fall = empty trails in great condition and mellow temps + fall color bonus.
Below are some pics from fall rides mostly the big epic w/ my bro that is further detailed in this post . . .
Some bonus material on a big epic w/ my bro . . . this route riffs on the same ride from my house in TD — the net on this route is a bit shorter, no Northwoods road climb at the end *and* what really matters is jumping in the lake on an 80 degree Indian Summer day w/ a beer so cold it hurts your hand . . . route stats/maps/etc. below and enclosed . . . more at garmin connect:
If this has you all fired up you can scratch your itch this weekend w/ the latest Six Pack Super Deezy more on that below per a prior post (with apologies to Truckee River Day . . . sigh many of your volunteers will be gorging themselves on the trails themselves at the Six Pack . . . but most of these cats are the ones building/maintaining/etc. *all the time* not just one day per year so its all good . . .):
Yo –if you roll #mt bikes in #Truckee this is a must-do event go get your ass and a beer handed to you in one motion . . . I am solo w/ the kiddies this weekend so not in the cards but I can say the collision of Chickadee and Six Pack Super Deezy is going to be EPIC! If your stoke is not already over-flowing, enclosed are some recent pics from fall mountain biking in the area — the best of the year. If I have to tell you why you probably already lost

o be prepared with gear, food, and drink to make the ride unsupported. Don’t count on somebody’s generosity to get your slack ass out of the woods. At the end of the ride we’re gonna hang out and party six pack style, so bring a change of clothes (for those of ya’ll that don’t like wearing a chamois all the time) and your wallet, as the location will most likely be a bar/restaurant. Additionally, for those of you that are planning on riding in this event, please email me to let me know so I can get an approximate head count. Get ready for a totally rad day of racing, riding, and drinking.
